More info on our Graduate Program

Induction and orientation program

Before getting started with us, you’ll attend an induction day at Empower Head Office where you get to meet the team, as well as your new grad peers. On this day you will also be inducted into the company and department, and spend some time with your team leaders. Following this day, you will be scheduled into a comprehensive orientation program, where you will shadow a few senior clinicians in our team. They will show you the ropes, including processes and documentation. The shadowing sessions can occur for as long as you feel confident to start taking your own caseload!

Graduate GROWTH plan

A GROWTH plan is an agreed plan between you and your mentor to identify your goals for the year and opportunities on you can participate in that will help you achieve these goals. It is reviewed regularly to help you stay on track.

It’s important start with the end in mind! The Graduate GROWTH plan is how we ensure all grads work to achieve their goals. GROWTH stands for:

GOAL
Smart Goals

REALITY
What is currently happening/what are you currently doing

OPTIONS
Brainstorm all things you could do to move towards your goal

WAHT WILL YOU DO
Evaluate your options and decide which ones you will action

TACTICS
How and when will you use these actions

HABIT
How will you sustain success once you achieve the goal

Mentoring and peer learning

You will be partnered up with a senior clinician in your team who will work to guide, facilitate, encourage and support you throughout your graduate year. You will meet weekly with your mentor to go through any questions, concerns, or clinical case scenarios you can’t seem to wrap you head around. On top of this, you’ll also have support from your peers, with opportunities to discuss any clinical queries, brainstorm and learn off each other in a group setting.

Monthly online clinical module

This forms part of the Clinical development program where each month focuses on a different topic. You will get access to Empower Learning management system which houses all our educational resources. Learn the most current evidence based practice and learn why we do what we do.

Monthly clinical workshops

Each month we run a clinical workshop which allows you to engage in case studies and apply your practical skills. This runs alongside the monthly online modules. These clinical workshops are run by senior clinicians and are done both in person and online. It’s a great opportunity to put your skills to practice!

Empower Innovation Project

The Empower innovation project is an opportunity to put your creativity and innovation to practice. You will work in small groups with your peers to develop resources, undertake research or aid in clinical projects that the whole company can use and learn from.

Career coaching

Sit down with your mentor to work out what is your next big step! What would you like to achieve after your graduate year? Your mentor will work with you to identify actions and make plans to help you make your next move.

External professional development

You have an allowance of $1500 to learn from the experts in the field!
