Empower RAC Menu & Mealtime Quality Standard Assessments
In Residential Aged Care, food and mealtimes are central to health, dignity, and community.
In accordance with Standard 6 (Food and Nutrition), residential aged care facilities are required to undertake a comprehensive menu and mealtime assessment at least annually.
Our menu and mealtime quality standard assessments help facilities meet the new Food and Nutrition Standard by:

- Mealtime environment assessments – Ensuring dining spaces are welcoming, inclusive, and supportive of resident dignity
- Resident satisfaction feedback – Listening to residents to improve enjoyment and engagement
- Compliance checks – Aligning with the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards effective November 2025
- Specialised audits – Comprehensive reviews of:
- IDDSI compliance – Ensuring texture-modified diets meet International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative requirements for safety and consistency
- Meal quality – Assessing taste, presentation, portion sizes, and nutritional balance
- Food fortification practices – Reviewing strategies to enhance nutritional density for residents with higher needs
